POLITICAL ANIMALS: SUNDAY NIGHTS

Feel like a frothy, soapy, sexy, drama about one of Washington’s most powerful people? No – it’s not a bio of the Clinton years. This new six part miniseries event on USA Network is fiction. But – it’ll bring back memories. The star is the Secretary of State (played by Sigourney Weaver). She’s a woman who used to be First Lady to a slick, Southern hound dog of a President who never saw a skirt he couldn’t chase. She lost her own run for the White House and the new President appointed her as Secretary of State, which, yes, does sound familiar.”Political Animals” rips off the curtain to show the personal behind the political. The Secretary’s family is no Brady Bunch. First of all – she divorced that two-timing-charmer (but they’re still in each other’s lives). The Secretary’s mother (played by Ellen Burstyn) is a former Las Vegas showgirl, who knows how to get her drink on, and says whatever’s on her mind. The Secretary has two sons – one of them her Chief of Staff and the other a constant worry – not because he is gay but because he has addication problems. Sounds like a delicious way to spend your summer. It debuts tonight! Tune into USA Network every Sunday night at 10 EST- 9 Central. Add some juicy political sizzle to your summer Sundays.
