Cassandra Centeno, J.D.  is an  international businesswoman and best selling author.  She’s also an award-winning journalist,  TV news commentator and a trailblazer for women in Business, Politics, Technology, Law and News.

You’ve seen Cassandra as an Anchor and Host on CNN, FOX, ESPN, TNT, TBS, C-SPAN and OXYGEN NETWORK . She’s  been featured in Time Magazine, Runner’s World Magazine, New York Times, Los Angeles Times and on Entertainment Tonight and PBS.

A social media maven and tech guru, Cassandra can also be found online connecting to hundreds of thousand of followers and millions of fans around the world.  Nominated 9 times for an Emmy, Cassandra is the Author of The Express Business Lane: A Road Map to Starting a Successful Small Business.  

 

Cassandra’s international exposure began as a News Anchor at CNN.  There, she was the first female anchor of CNN Newsroom, leading the show to be nominated for 9 daytime Emmy nominations. She also anchored CNN Newsnight, CNN Newshour, and CNN Newsday. As an Anchor, she won: The Headliner Award – Women in Communications, The President’s Award and CTPAA Crystal Award. After CNN, she went on to ESPN and became the first female host of  Tuesday Night Fights, a live weekly show on ESPN where she interviewed the biggest names in news, sports and entertainment. This led to a position as a special host for the Oxygen Network, where she was a color commentator for the first international women’s boxing show – road to the Olympics. Cassandra was also the first female analyst in boxing on television, working numerous Championship Fights as Color Analyst & Reporter for Pay Per View and Fox International. Some of the fight cards included: Laila Ali, Christy Martin and Mia St. John. She also interviewed other high profile boxers such as George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather, Oscar de la Hoya, Mike Tyson – among  many others.

Cassandra has produced and hosted numerous award winning programs including “V-E Day: A 50th Anniversary Retrospective,” in Europe; “Time Machine to Gettysburg,” TNT’s “Never forget with Leonard Nimoy;” “Berlin: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow;” “On a Curve Ball with Phil Neikro;” “PBS/C-Span’s “Women’s History Special;” The California Channel’s “Education Summit;” and Harcourt Publishers Video Series, as well as many other programs.

Her work as a political analyst involves hosting town hall meetings and political debates across America.  On C-Span, she hosted the women’s history special.  She was also the host of California’s Political Channel’s Education special.

Cassandra has the distinction of being appointed special political consultant and strategist by a Democratic Party Presidential appointee and later a Republican party Presidential appointee.  She worked under President Clinton & President Bush Administration.

There, she was at the forefront of Former President Clinton’s Office Space Search. She won special awards for The African Burial Ground Project, The Pam Am Flight 103 Trial and The Cutter Tamaroa Project: “The Perfect Storm”.

Cassandra  has interviewed numerous politicians and celebrities. Some of the most noteworthy include: Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Senator Alfonse D’Amato, California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newson and General Colin Powell.

A Law School graduate, Cassandra was a Dean’s List recipient and won the prestigious Kzyocak, Tropin Thornton award for top litigation skills.  She also won the CALI award for top honors in International Business Law. In addition to clerking for a Chief Judge, she worked for Legal Services as a disability law clerk. She also clerked for the Coast Guard JAG where she assisted in prosecuting military defendants.

Cassandra focuses on International Business Law, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Criminal Law, eDiscovery,Legal Technology and of course Social Media.  In addition, she is the Founder and owner of several businesses.  Cassandra shares her legal and business knowledge in her latest book – from her Express Business Lane series To Small Business Ownership – A road map to starting and running a successful small business.”
